A beautiful friendship

I have to be honest. The first time after we visited the litter with my friend and tested the puppies I was a little worrying about the future relationship between my daughter and Butch. I mean, he was really cute with a friendly wagging tale, but all those instincts of an ACD… and I’ve never seen an ACD litter before. It was surprising, little overwhelming… Anyway, I also knew my daughter and I was pretty sure, if the dog is not going to be too much for her, then she will be. My daughter spent her first couple years on a farm, usually running around barefoot with dogs  of all different sizes. She loved to stay in the kennels with our dogs, pretending she is one of them. She usually looked like them until I washed her out from the mud. 🙂 

The day came, when we took Butch home. I remember trying to explain to my daughter, that Butch is a baby dog and he may need more rest and peace. The next thing I remember, that I’m in the kitchen, Hanna is laying on the floor and Butch is running and jumping on her, licking all over her face and pulling her hair. My daughter was laughing and screaming so hard, that I wasn’t sure if it’s still a play for both of them. So I stopped the dog, and she is immediately started to shout at me to let him play with her. They loved to run around in the garden, and usually end up lying in the grass on each other. That was the time when I realized, that I have TWO cattle dogs. 🙂 Probably that’s why I fell in love with Butch immediately, because he was just like my intense, non stop, high energy daughter. 😀 They are still good friends, also Butch stopped these puppy like games with her, however he does obey to her commands.
